Donna and Michael Rigert have three children, ages 24, 22, and 20. The eldest is a firefighter and on his own; the other two are college students.

Favorite room in this house
“The kitchen was inspired by a stay in a historic coastal home. We loved the eat-in kitchen, surrounded by a large window seat situated next to a limestone fireplace. We found a 200-year-old chestnut table to anchor the room.”

Favorite thing about Naperville
“Considering this is our fourth home in Naperville, we would have to say we’re pretty smitten with the town! There’s nothing better than walking or running through the historic district and college campus, with a destination of the Riverwalk, restaurant, or just meeting for coffee.”

“It was so much fun to pull in materials we had never worked with before! We used hickory flooring, reclaimed wood, an antique newel post, copper countertops and worked with an innovative company in Barrington, Artifactural Furniture. They built interesting niches, designed doors using 100-year-old wood and antique iron, and created beautiful patinas on built-ins in most of the rooms.”
